A perching female Black-bodied Skimmer, spotted at the Mae Taeng River in Chiang Mai. It is sexually dichromatic, displaying a difference in colour between the sexes (fig.).

Females have a golden-yellow abdomen, ringed with grayish black, a dark grayish to black body with a yellow dorsal stripe and dark, greenish gray eyes.

Their wings are transparent, with grayish black veins and a dark grayish to black spot near the wing tips.
